APSC

The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) is responsible for promoting and upholding high standards of integrity, performance, and professionalism within the Australian Public Service (APS). It works to strengthen the capability and effectiveness of the APS to serve the Australian government and the public.

The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) required a comprehensive brand and communications audit to address inconsistencies across its diverse portfolio of brands and channels. The goal was to gain a clear understanding of the existing brand landscape, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and provide a foundation for a cohesive communications strategy.

To ensure a thorough analysis, I conducted an in-depth audit of all APSC brands and communications channels while working at Ellis Jones. This involved cataloguing every key message, channel and brand asset to evaluate the consistency and cohesion across the Commission’s communications ecosystem. By systematically examining each component, we were able to uncover where communication gaps existed and pinpoint areas where consistency and clarity were lacking.

DELIVERABLES

The audit served as a foundational asset for APSC’s future communications strategy. We delivered a detailed report outlining our findings and provided actionable recommendations to unify the brand identity across all APSC brands and channels. Recommendations included consolidating fonts, reducing the colour palette, and standardising graphic design elements to create visual harmony. We also proposed strategies for consistent messaging that would resonate across channels and reinforce APSC’s overarching mission. This brand and communications audit laid the groundwork for APSC to build a cohesive, impactful presence, ensuring that its communications were not only clear and consistent but also strategically aligned with its goals.
